The Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) is pleased to welcome Richard Mortimer as the new Chair of the NEP Board, taking over from Peter McFadzean as NEP enters an exciting new stage of its journey.
Richard joins the Board as Chair, bringing a wealth of experience from his role as Vice President of Engineering & Quality for Global Projects at bp, as well as Chair of bp’s Engineering Leadership Council. Throughout his career, he has led major projects across the energy sector and will help guide NEP as it continues to deliver the infrastructure needed to support carbon transportation and storage in the UK.
Richard takes on the role at a significant moment for the partnership. With construction activity underway, key project milestones being achieved and progress continuing across both Teesside and the Humber.
The appointment also marks the end of Peter McFadzean’s two-year tenure as Chair. Peter has helped steer NEP through a period of tremendous growth and several landmark achievements, including reaching financial close and progressing the development of the East Coast Cluster’s transport and storage infrastructure.
While stepping down as Chair, Peter isn’t going far. He will remain on the NEP Board as a Director, continuing to provide valuable insight and support as the partnership moves forward.
