Richard was appointed as Director and Chair in June 2026. He is currently VP Engineering & Quality for the Projects organisation of bp. He leads a globally distributed team of approximately 450 discipline engineers, engineering managers and quality professionals who are deployed onto bp’s major projects. Richard has 38 years’ experience with bp projects in both Upstream and Downstream. He is a Major in the Royal Engineers Staff Corps of the British Army – providing Engineering and Energy Sector advice.
